My Porn is Now Tagged!
Jul. 11th, 2005 12:49 amW00t! (as the kids say).
People who know me, know I have *quite* the extensive porn collection. I have images, video –anything digital. With the new operating system from Apple (10.4 aka"Tiger"), I have the ability to search my disks for meta-data –information about the file itself. A big part of this meta-data is user-definable keywords. Being an Information Architect, I've created a Pornographic taxonomy –a formalised categorisation and hierarchy, to apply to all of my pornographic data. I can now search for solos, groups, couples, bears, daddies, cocks, ass, cum, you name it. I can even come up with complex queries, such as: "Group AND Daddy AND Leather OR BDSM NOT Boy OR Rope", and return results instantly. Yes, it really is instantly.
Until recently, there was a problem. There was no way to batch (no pun intended) enter keywords, which made Tiger's search facility a bit flaccid (pun intended). You can't search, if the information isn't there. The solution has come from two places. Software giant Adobe recently released their Creative Suite 2. In it, is a wonderful image cataloguing application that allows you to manipulate images in batch. The other, is the *much* less expensive Graphic Converter, from Lemke Software. The newer versions can also add keywords in batch to images.
It is a good time to be a (horny) geek!
