I wind up getting to sleep around 2am. I don't know what's been going on, but I've been wired up until the all-too-late hours of the evening. I think perhaps I sleep too much on the train, and that has affected my sleep schedule.

I used to not be able to sleep at all in moving vehicles, but about seven years ago, that changed when I first started doing the daily commute into NYC. Now, if I am on the train, I struggle to stay awake. Mind you, I've never missed my stop, probably because it's not a real sleep-state. It's more of a semi-conscious meditative state, where I am alert enough to know when someone is about to snatch my belongings, or when my stop is coming.

Today however, I woke up wide-eyed, and bushy-tailed. I stayed in bed for a bit, and listened to NPR, then did my normal routine. I plan on going to the gym today, so I had to remember to pack an extra pair of socks, my pair of workout socks, underwear, and t-shirt. Because I removed a bunch of stuff from my bad this week-end, I also had to remember to back my laptop. Otherwise work would have been…difficult. While I remembered the Powerbook, I *failed* to bring my little blue notebook. This notebook is arguably more valuable than my Powerbook, as it contains all my doodles, thoughts, and notes for the eight projects I am juggling. Of course, I didn't realise I forgot it until I was at the station.

The other thing I forgot was the new month. Happy May to everyone! This means everything resets. I have to re-purchase my monthly commutation ticket, and my monthly Metrocard. I completely forgot to do the former, and yet when the conductor came to collect my ticket, he let me pass without charging me! For those keeping track, this isn't the fireplug with the big flashlight, but the "normal" conductor for the train, whom I'd boff in a heartbeat, just to hear him moan. Not having a valid ticket means I will probably need to purchase one in GCT this evening. Not something I am looking forward to, as GCT is such a giant mess during the rush. Yes, I have to deal with a human. the kiosks don't allow you to purchase monthly tickets.

Why is that??
