Apple and EMI just announced that EMI will introduce high quality (256kbit) DRM-free AAC files for the iTunes Store in May of 2007. This will prove to be very disruptive to the music industry. The first shot was made by Steve when he sent out his open letter to the record industry. EMI listened. From now on, everything will be different. I’ve never purchased anything from the iTunes Store, but this will change in May.
