On Friday (the day I didn't actually sleep until about 3pm), I picked up my phone from the desk in my study, put it somewhere, and promptly forgot where. I found it about an hour ago. It was in my bag.

In other news, we got our Christmas tree. Every year, the Christmas tree thing is stressful. This year is no different. Bah humbug. I am really not feeling the Christmas spirit, as I usually do. It could be the weather (rather warm, save the bit of recent ugliness), and work-related stress. I'm still learning to unwind. That doesn't come naturally to me. Perhaps one day it will.

Just feeling a bit disconnected is all.

Now, I plan on doing some errands, including the gym. Last time I went, I actually *ran* on the treadmill. I will NEVER do that again. Sure, it's the easiest way to burn calories, but I could feel my knees being slaughtered with every step. I think it has to do with how I run. I simply never learned how. Sure, I can propel myself at high speed, but that's different than running. Running involves a proper stride, and foot placement. I do none of these things properly. Thank the gods for the arc-trainers. Because this prior week I didn't get to hit the gym as often as I normally do, I will put myself through one more week of cardio before going back to lifting. On the plus side, I did lose a good 12lbs, and some of that was fat, but overall, I wasn't too happy with how it all worked out. Next time, I will try a more regimented diet plan (rather than just a caloric goal). Gods, I can't wait to lift heavy things again. It's something I am much better at doing, and I enjoy doing it. I do cardio "because I have to", not because I enjoy it.

Tonight, I am going out to dinner with my friend Michael to Q, a pretty good BBQ place in Port Chester, rather near my house, then hitting the cinema to see Golden Compass. Current reviews give it a "meh", but I want to do something fun this evening, and seeing a film fits the bill.
