Cablevision Sucks Balls
Jun. 2nd, 2008 12:42 amSo, as of I believe yesterday, several channels I used to get as part of my cable television package are no longer available. In place of these channels is a red screen telling me "in order to view this channel, you need an IO Digital Cable box". We don't use cable boxes in this house (just coax into the back of the TV), as Bill doesn't like them (don't get me started). Upgrading to an IO package is going to be an extra $10 a month, plus additional charges for the three TVs in the house. Quite frankly, I don't feel the need to pay Cablevision any more than I must to get a good internet connection. I no longer get Sci-Fi, TLC, A&E, and several others. I'm waiting until CNN suddenly "requires an IO box", and watch Bill's head explode (not that I want to see that, mind you).
So thank you, Cablevision, for forcing me to go to ThePirateBay to get all the new episodes of Battlestar Galactica, and the occasional episode of What Not to Wear. Hey, they're even in HD!
Hmm.. I believe FIOS is available, and perhaps their cable TV features are also available. It may be time for change.
