There is a lot wrong with iTunes, both the application, and the eponymous store. One thing that they managed to do really well (and couldn't be done without help from the content providers) is a little section they call iTunes U. For those that don't click the link, iTunes U is a huge library of lectures and classes from universities all over the world. Some of the best universities are represented as well… Stanford, MIT, and Oxford are featured heavily. It's an amazing resource. Actual courses are uploaded, often with accompanying links to coursework/homework, so you can even do the assignments after the lectures.
And it's all FREE!!!!!!
If you haven't checked it out, open iTunes on your computer, then click on the iTunes Store button, then select iTunes U in the store. There are audio-only, video, and high-def video options for many of them, so you can choose which format makes the most sense for you. They don't contain DRM, so you can copy them wherever you want.
I've recently watched: (warning, links may open iTunes)
Developing Apps for iOS (HD) (Stanford)
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=395605774
Quantum Mechanics (Oxford)
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=381702006
They're a hell of a lot of fun.
