I go under the knife tomorrow.

They're going to take the part of the biceps tendon that is no longer attached, thread it through what is ostensibly a tube-like button, and insert that through the bone, so it is anchored to the other side. They will then screw it in place, giving plenty of surface area on which to permanently bind. I've been assured that this will allow my left biceps to full heal, and allow me to continue lifting heavy things.

The procedure is scheduled for 2pm, although I must show up at 1pm to be prepped. The operation will take about 2 hours. Shortly thereafter I will be discharged, and Bill will pick me up.

I'm pretty ok with the whole situation, although I'm starting to get a wee anxious. I have mentioned that I'm getting flashbacks of Luke Skywalker getting a new hand at the end of Empire Strikes Back. Crazy. I haven't been under the knife since about 1978. I hear things have changed a bit. I remember laughing hysterically as I watched the doctors spin around my head, and clap their hands as they passed their instruments to each other, and operated on me. Yes, of course I was hallucinating, but I remember it like it was yesterday.

It has been a very long time indeed, however I must go once more into the breach.
