When we last left our hero, he closed the 21st Amendment brewery with his friend and fellow podcaster @johnfoster, on Friday night. Saturday was therefore pretty much a recovery day for me, as despite my love of beer, I usually don't have more than one or two in an evening, and I don't often drink more than once every other week. I put the "do not disturb" sign on my door, and slept in.
Toward the end of the evening, I got a wee stir crazy, although still feeling a wee fragile. I decided seeing a film wouldn't be too much of an issue, and wound up seeing the Scorsese film Hugo with Jason and Steve at the Metreon, which is conveniently located a block from my hotel. The film is wonderful, and the only film in 3D that I enjoyed. It still could have played well in 2D, but I think the "magic" of them would be somewhat lost. If you do go and see this film (and I recommend it), go see it in a cinema that won't fuck up the experience by having a lamp that is at half brightness, or has a bunch of annoying people texting/talking throughout the film.
After the film, we went for a quick bite at Mel's (I hadn't been able to eat all day, so it was nice to has food!). The food was entirely unremarkable, but the company was lovely. I then walked back to the hotel, read for a bit, then went back to sleep.
