My goodness, it has been a very long time since I've made an entry. Apologies for that.

So I've been super crazy busy. Work is going well, although one of my client projects involves also being the project manager. I'm not super thrilled about that, but if we don't have formal PMs on the project, the IA is usually most qualified, as s/he must have an understanding of the entire project, and works throughout the entire project life-cycle. I'm also now officially MartianCraft's head design guy. I still need to come up with a proper title. Internally, we're not hierarchical, but it's important to have something expected for the outside world. They're leaning toward 'Creative Director' or 'Design Director', but I am not sure how comfortable I am with that, as I don't have a design background. I'm thinking 'Director of User Experience', but I am not sold on that either.

One of our other projects just launched. It's been stewing for nearly a year as we wrangled the rights to use some of the imagery from the Charles and Ray Eames foundation. The grandson who owns the rights was being kind of a dick. The app is called Minds of Modern Mathmatics, and I'd link to it, but Apple makes that nearly impossible on the iPad. Yay progress! /sarcasm. It was made in partnership with IBM, and amongst other things, contains the GIANT mural that was put up in IBM's headquarters, created by Charles and Ray on the history of modern Mathmatics. It's stunning, and if you have an iPad I highly suggest downloading the free app.

When not working, I'm chugging away on my show, Ruining It For Everyone. We've got several episodes in the process of being edited, and we now have a few THOUSAND regular listeners. I did the show with Maggie as a learning exercise, thinking a handful of people would find it interesting. It turns out, quite a few of you do! I am amazed, thankful, and humbled. Maggie was also mentioned in a recent Talk Show episode (John Gruber's podcast) As I mentioned in an earlier post, we're doing a lot of guests this year, one of whom is our very own [livejournal.com profile] martini_tim! His episode is still in the queue for editing, but should be dropping sometime when I am in Seattle.

So yeah, I'll be in Seattle is time next week, for an entire week. I'd love to see some of you, but my time is going to be a wee limited, so my apologies if I don't get to see you this round. I am however, looking forward to spending time with my hosts, Troy and Ron. We had such a lovely time together at OBF last year, and we've been eagerly awaiting our next visit. They're amazing folks. Sadly, they don't seem to post to LJ much, aside from an auto-post now and again. Perhaps I can convince them to post more. :-)

My 5D mkIII is a pretty amazing camera. I still haven't put it through the ringer, but last week, I filmed a test animatic for an app that I am helping to build. The app itself is rather interesting, and while I can't say much about it, I think some of you photographers will dig it as well.

In other podcasting news, I'm going to be on a few new shows in the coming weeks. Sadly, I'm NDA'd about them, but I do want to say that I'm really excited. In one show, the other guests involve very important people from a large software company located in California who are going to announce a HUGE new shiny thing ON THAT SHOW! I feel like Oprah ;-)

Anyway, I hope you cats and kittens are well! Enjoy this lovely day.
