Mar. 1st, 2013 11:03 amI've been so excited to see this come to fruition.
The Penny Arcade folks have decided to create a Project Runway or Top Chef-like web-based contest reality show. They stuffed the contestants into a house in what looks to be Bellevue, WA where they will compete to become America's Next TopModel Comic Drawer/Writer/Person/Nugget/Thingy.
In the first episode, they don't really do much, except bring everyone into the house. They're going for short, 15-20 minute episodes, twice weekly. I wonder if this format will hurt them. Aside from the endless recaps in televised reality contest shows, the hour long format does give the opportunity to get to know the contestants better than shorter bursts. Of course, we're still in the 'too many people you won't see for verymuch longer' stage. In the end, it may not matter.
