In NYC Today

I'm going to be in town today to do a bit of shopping. If anyone wants to hang out or do dinner, let me know.

Bläarg

So this week started out ok, what with the inauguration of a new President, but then quickly made a turn for the worse. First, I found out a dear friend's partner of many years died suddenly and a day later another dear friend was laid off from the company he's worked for 25-odd years, just shy of his retirement. Bloody hell.

Last night my body said that it had quite enough of this sleep deprevation and totally shut down at 930pm. I woke up this morning around 930am. I kinda didn't know what to do with the extra time. I was fully showered, read, and fed by 1030.

So now I am out at starbucks enjoying an iced venti no classic (unsweetened) green tea. Unfortunately this was after being badgered by people outside from Penn State who want me to give them money to help kids with cancer. There are 12 of them in this strip and running the gauntlet is more than annoying.

Creature of Habit

I like routine. When I do something everyday, and you decide to come along, please be prepared, and recognize that you are a guest in my routine, and act accordingly. For example, if you see I have my headphones on, and I am typing away on my computer (or iPhone) please don't bug me every 5 seconds about something you're reading in the New York Times. Chances are good that I've read it, or will once I get into the office. Train time is quiet time, especially in the morning.

I suppose this is prickish behaviour on my part, but I cherish my quiet alone time.

Freak World

I knew today was going to be screwed-up when I woke up and it was only marginally brighter than it was when I went to bed. When I made my breakfast, it had already started to snow. I left the house what I thought was 5 minutes late according to the clock, but was actually on time.

When I got to the train station, it was empty. No one was outside, which made sense considering the weather. I waited outside, in the snow 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 minutes late. When it arrived,it was announced as the normal 9:25 semi-express to GCT. I got in and grabbed my usual seat. The train then proceeded to make *all* local stops, including Fordham road. Needless to say, I was a wee late to the office.

Today should be pretty light. I was able to finish the bulk of my work yesterday,so today will be helping out those who need my direction. I hope we're released early, as I don't want to have to dig my car out from under a mountain of snow.

The iPhone is interesting. It's the apps that could use some polish. The LJ app for example, sucks balls. It can't even remember to show it's custom editing ribbon, nor does it scroll so, I can't read what I am typing. I am actually slower typing on this than I am with the n78, however the larger screen makes it easier to see what you are writing. What I can't get over is how slippery the iPhone is. I can barely type without it launching out of my hands. I need to buy a silicone sleeve for it. Perhaps that will help with grip.

This is a Test

From my iPhone. Had this been a real emergency, your hairdresser would be on fire.
