Stupid Accomplishments Wednesday

I've decided every day should have its own theme. Today's theme is "Stupid Accomplishments"

While at the office, I decided I needed to take a break from doing actual billable work, and finally hash out my button bars in World of Warcraft. You see, I recently downloaded an add-on to the game that will allow me to assign commands to 120 buttons, order them in arbitrary groups, and assign keyboard shortcuts easily. This process isn't as simple as you may think. First, you must figure out what's available. Then you need to create some form of taxonomy, then you need to see how on earth they will fit into the interface. After that, you want to assign your keyboard shortcuts. This took roughly 3 hours. Oops.

But at least it's done. Now I get to do the same thing for all my other characters.

::eep::

I understand and can relate.

It sucks having to assign similar combos for different characters.

Of course, I no longer play WoW, but I know where you're coming from all the same.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but you're still cute and sexy:)

Is this an example of why some call it "World of WarCrack"?

Actually, it's more an example of my OCD ;-)

I have no idea what your talking about, but I also think you're still cute and sexy :-). All that jargon is a turn on. At least you can do some fun stuff at the office with out getting in trouble. Of course , I avoided billing too. I did some non-productive work today, such as sneaking away from the office to my apt several times, (live on site), and enter posts and comments on LJ, and check out my new and old sex /dating sites. I may have 3 dates. Hummm. Maybe it was productive after all :o). LOL

And you get paid for this?

Not that I'm a shining example of productivity. I've been known to make LJ posts on company time. I'm a bad, bad boy.

As long as I meet my deadlines, it's all good.

yes I have noticed that

You are on that game until 1 AM or later . How do you do that and still go to work? Oh to be young again. (smile) hugs and hope that your day goes well

While it is true, I am sometimes playing until 1am, I just as often forget to change my status on IM.

I kind of thought that to be the case

Hope you have a great day. I know I would forget as I would fall asleep. Hugs

I can relate.

I play Final Fantasy XI (11) and there was an update (maybe around that same time?) that drastically increased the number of macros (6 command lines each, which runs at the push of a button). Because in this game, any character can play any job (class) regardless of race, and there happen to be as many "books" of macros as there are jobs, and I haven't even played all the jobs yet, I am still setting macros. I spent a couple of hours on it before I came to work last night, and will continue today when I get home, provided my family leaves me alone. ;-)

I have an elaborate system where I can switch books of macros with a macro instead of through the menu. I am sure you understand how that works, but why it's necessary in that game is a longer post than I am coherent enough for at the moment.

(Not to mention I've already written a mini-post in your commentary...sorry.)
