PR4: Zoot-Suit and Shining Shoes Edition

I am beginning to doubt the capabilities of these designers. Granted, the idea of taking 3 "out" trends and mashing them together is a *really* stupid idea, but I'm looking at the ideas coming out of the teams, and I am not seeing good stuff, nor am I seeing quality finishing.

I actually really like Chris' crop-jacket, but that's the only thing I've seen so far that I even *remotely* like.

Of course, the runway will reveal all, soon enough.

Discuss!!

Epic fail. Incorrect auf.

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Totally Agreed!

I donnow, I thought Chris' group had good cohesion. Yes, the leggings thing was different, but it worked with the colour and overall style. This is the first time I wondered what the fuck the judges were smoking.

Hippychick's dress was a mess!

i did not see much from this challenged that was great, though i was not crazy about chris's jacket, i too thought it was not at all contemporary. and i did see chris as the one to go. he just did not stand out on any of the challenges. but little ricky needs to pull his act together or he will soon be next. he's either been too boring, not finished, and now poorly constructed. he has an eye for how clothes should fit the body he just makes bad choices that come back to bite him. i did love the winning team outfits, i thought they were very contemporary and took bad trends and made them fresh.

Given the overall ghastliness of the concept, I really liked Chris's shmata. The only reason I can think for him losing is that someone is punishing me by making me look at all the tacky-ass hats on Ricky.

And honey, who knew Donna Karan had such bad skin? And wouldn't it be fabulously scary if she and the Oompah Loompah were to mate?

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
See, all these years, Donna has been hooking Barbra up with the style, and Barbra can’t hook Donna up with a good dermatologist…

Please, some wood putty and a sanding machine!

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Barbra might ruin a perfect manicure if she took that task upon herself…

[identity profile] danbearnyc.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Let Oompah Loompah do it

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno.  I suspect that Michael Kors doesn’t do much of anything with his own hands.

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
No, I think one of his assistants cuts the pastries into tiny pieces and then Kors actually has the kolaches spoon-fed to him.

Is it just me, or is MK looking less orange this season?

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the Illuminati are Photoshopping white balance corrections into every frame that Kors is in.

That tired old DK/Liza Minelli neck and sleeve that DK was wearing (yet again) should have been one of the styles that was deemed "out".

Ah, the days of wine and roses. And disco and cocaine. And lots of cocaine.

[identity profile] snapperboy.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't see what the problem was with Chris' jacket. It's the same shrug the judges oozed over when Chloe's nightmare collection was shown at Bryant Park and won two season's ago. And talk about not modern. Bejeebus.

Weird spit-on-the-fabric chick's dress was a mess.

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I actually really liked how the sleeves were oversized, and went far past the hands.

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I’ll give you the silhouette, but that fabric?

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
It was a fucktonne better than the "neon" set.

[identity profile] snapperboy.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I liked Chris' version. I loathed Chloe's version.

Ricky is totally skating.  Chris’s outfit wasn’t much to write home about, but how many times has Ricky been on the pointy end of elimination now and not been axed?

KevinisstraightKevinisstraightKevinisstraightKevinisstraight
If we say it enough times, maybe it will come true!

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, he did it again. Those editors must be having a blast with this.

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
(Oh, and I think Ricky wants Elisa to totally fuck him up the ass.)

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 05:03 am (UTC)(link)

One thing I don’t get, while we’re talking about it:

Okay, Jillian was named the winner.  But was it her individual design, her collective vision or her leadership that gets credited for this challenge?

I mean, they busted the bottom two teams for being the least cohesive collections, but it came down to Chris and Ricky having the “worst designs” that had their asses on the line at episode’s end, at least from how I interpreted it.

[identity profile] annoyinghandle.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
I won't get to watch until I can download it, but I take it Chris is history.

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, yes. Fred Flintstone was auf'd. Which is a shame, as I thought his design was better than Ricky's.

[identity profile] macduff131.livejournal.com 2007-12-06 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
i liked chris' jacket, too...it was a smidge too wide, i think, but i liked it.

ricky's dress was an abomination.
