PR4: Pope at a Sex Club Edition

This was the most fun challenge I've seen to date. Those girls were *fabulous*! All that sparkle, all that shine. Wow.

Jillian's outfit was really cool. It really had "sporty/sexy" going on. Loved the fabric, but I couldn't quite get what was going on with the boob-strap without the white stripe. It didn't add interest, it added distraction.

Christians outfit: Fierce! One thing I would have done was put a cutout in the cleavage. I think that would have brought it home. Loved the chaps.

Chris didn't really have to try for this one. He just needed to make his drag outfit fit his diva.

Remi's outfit sucked. I actually *liked* the colour. The hot pink thing could totally work. His execution blew goats.

Poor, poor Sweet P. She just didn't get it, but I didn't think hers was the worst of the bunch. That would go to:

Ricky. He's really awful. *Really* awful.

What didja think?

Rami was trying to drape a wrestling costume, for fuck’s sake!

The Israeli bites it next episode.  I’m almost willing to put money on it.  It’s a certainty that I’ll be up early on Saturday morning to see who actually showed on the PR runway Friday…

Yeah, I nearly smacked him when he was describing it to Tim.

Whereas I simply cried out, "no, don't DRAPE the lycra!"

In some ways he's at a disadvantage because he got the American girl next door gal and isn't American, but he could have done better than that.

He plays it safe in a way by starting with the technique he knows well... I think he would jut kudos for coming up with something that it totally different.

It gets me very near to not wanting to fuck him, in fact.  His attitude pushes me right to the edge, moreover.

The judges like a lot of his stuff (the Hersey challenge was different.
I think Jillian will make it because she is like PR3's Laura - exceptional craftsmanship.
Christian will probably be there because he is will to be cutting edge.
The toss-up is Chris or Rami - I'd like Chris because he will do some interesting stuff (if Tim pushes/focuses him to edit back. Rami will turn out a sophisticated elegant line but yeah he plays it safe and doesn't want to break out of his box. He is dependable but doesn't have any real flash. He won't make fashion week most interesting.

EXACTLY

Jillian, because she's talented...
Christian, because he's innovative...

Sweet Pea I love, but she get's cut.

Chris or Rami. Rami will be classic and boring, I've seen lineups of his previous shows...beautiful but YAWN! I REALLY want to see what Chris would do: I'm sure it would be fun, witty, and INTERESTING!

changed my mind a little

[identity profile] badgerpdx.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
1) Chris
2) Sweet P
3) Jillian (some of the best and worst in one show)
4) Same old Rami BORING~SEEN IT BEFORE
5) Christian...same old puffysleeved silhouette. One top actually made me laugh out loud at it. The kid's smoking some serious crack.

I pretty much agree -

I think Chris has the best range for Commercial, Couture, and Red Carpet. I'm waiting to see his stuff in motion which will enhance it.

I would move Sweet P down the line - mostly because I didn't care for most of her fabric choices but she had the most Commercial line.

I agree, Sweet P is the most commericial, the most accessable of all the shows in general. My favorite piece is the first one in Chris' show. I LOVE that dress: Simple, COOL, elegant.

Victorya Hong showed on the first day. She must have been in before she was bounced from the show (???).

[identity profile] grandiva1968.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.  I think they may have had something lined up for a designer (though not necessarily her) going in.  The Fashion Week site didn't post her name until after the show, they just said the show would be from a “Project Runway designer.”

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
The impression I got was that she showed, but it wasn't a "PR" show, it was just "VictorYA" showing. Also, from what [livejournal.com profile] grandiva1968 says, it wasn't even in Bryant Park, it was down the street.

[identity profile] brindledbear.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
She didn't show in the tent but in The Altman Building - http://www.mercedesbenzfashionweek.com/newyork/fall2008/designers/na_be_by_victorya_hong/index.html

It doesn't associate her with PR - PR is listed further down but the display is blank. Maybe they will post tomorrow.

Experience

Rami has actually had quite a lot of success already. I don't have the link anymore (couldn't find it) but if you check his bio, you'd be amazed). I don't think he really NEEDS this show (if I can purloin a bit of "Chorus Line".

Perhaps not for the exposure, but I think that everyone on the show could use the $100,000.
