Today is going to be a hot tranny mess. I can feel it.

On the plus side, I invented Twitter-based Street Fighter II.

To play, just send an @ message to the person you're fighting with the appropriate move. Go back and forth until bored. It's important to be consistant in your moves (ie, only use the moves from one character at a time).

ex: @Prettydirty: Hadoken!

FIGHT!

Hm. I'll be impressed with Twitter-based Tempest. ;)

But you don't play Tempest against another player. It has to be a PVP-style game. Hmm... Twitter-based Unreal Tournament.

Twitter...is that like an IM thing?

And actually you can just download emulators and roms to play real Street fighter.

Twitter is basically like micro-blogging. You can "tweet" up to 150 characters per entry. Theoretically, it's used to tell those following you what you're up to. It's evolved into something a bit different.

I'm aware of MAME, et al, I just liked the absurdity of creating a text-based SFII game. I'm gonna see if I can't make Twitter Unreal Tournament.

Hmm...no, haven't received anything.

I think I replied to the email I got, which probably went to a null account from Flickr.

I'll dig it out, and re-send it to you.

No problem...just wondering if you wanted to meet up while i'm there.

My most reliable email is tacicub@execulink.com. The flickr one can be erratic...

I liked him more in the later years when he wasn't so slow, and he had more moves.

One of my greatest video game hacking stories involves hacking the SNES version of SFII, allowing the fighters to do all *sorts* of moves they were never meant to have (like Chun-Li throwing a fireball out of her vagina while she did the Hyakuretsukyaku.

I'm almost afraid to ask if that last is something you found in the game and enabled access to... or something you actually added yourself.

It wasn't supposed to be part of the game. I just tied the hadoken fireball sprites and actions to the Hyakuretsukyaku by twiddling a bunch of bits.
