I woke up sounding like Tom Waits again, coughed up some ugly green/yellow stuff as well. I think it's a pollen thing, as we've been keeping the windows open at night. It was also amazingly warm, so I had a rather fitful sleep. Consequently, I am feeling *very* low energy this morning.

On the plus side I did wind up doing 950 on the ILP last night. Much better considering I couldn't get passed 810 last week. I suppose last week I just wasn't fully recovered. Getting e'er so close to 1000#.

I have deadlines Thursday, so I really need to get my shit together in the next two days. Luckily, I am in a good place with that, and it should just be production work here on in.

Is ET Day. ET for Edward Tufte, that is. I've officially registered for his one day course. I've been to his lectures before, and they're quite fascinating. One time he exploded at some idiot who not only didn't turn off his mobile phone, but *answered the call*. I was waiting for the entire audience to riot.

Interestingly, I had to provide a FAX NUMBER because my registration was within 10 days of the event. Because, you know, email has to go through the interwebs, and we *all* know the tubes are clogged up with porn, illegal software, and gambling.

If you are at all into Information design or Information Architecture, I highly suggest checking out his one day lecture. For $360, you also get a copy of *all* his books, so the lecture itself comes to under $100. Not a bad deal. They also have student discounts. Check out the site for availability.

Most of you have probably seen this before, but if you haven't:

Slashdot | Did Humans Evolve? No, Say Americans

It's Slashdot, so change your threshold to 3 or better to weed out the insanity. Some of the discussion is well articulated.
