Because they're far more interesting than a Harley. They're not as big, they're not as smooth, and no, they're not as good overall, but they're British, dammit, and I like to tinker.

Last night I hosted BHVR Beerfest 2: Electric Boogaloo at the office. While it was OK, there were too many people out on client meetings, it was only a month since the first BHVR Beerfest, and I forgot to have someone get food. I wound up "sampling" a bit too many of the over 20 varieties of beer available, and without any food, it went very quickly, to my head. One of the cool enhancements from the first BHVR Beerfest was the addition of the scorecard, which allowed everyone to vote 'yay' or 'nay' on the beers they sampled, and add any notes. These will be collected and put on the BHVR wiki, as well as added to http://yayandnay.com (a pretty fun website made by a co-worker. Check it out).

As the current administration starts seeing the writing on the walls, I'm expecting them to do some really strange and scary things. I didn't see *this* coming:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/cristina-page/hhs-moves-to-define-contr_b_112887.html

In a spectacular act of complicity with the religious right, the Department of Health and Human Services Monday released a proposal that allows any federal grant recipient to obstruct a woman's access to contraception. In order to do this, the Department is attempting to redefine many forms of contraception, the birth control 40% of Americans use, as abortion. Doing so protects extremists under the Weldon and Church amendments. Those laws prohibit federal grant recipients from requiring employees to help provide or refer for abortion services.
