It has been around for awhile it seems. So what's your favourite entry?

Thank you! I love MCM. Randy and I have fantasized for years about buying an Eichler, remodeling it extensively to include some energy efficiency and comfort improvements, restoring the interior to as close as possible during all of that, and filling the house with MCM furnishings.

Everybody's gotta have a dream.

Ah! My friend David, who periodically hosts the Mt. View gay and lesbian pot luck, is in such an abode. He is slowly fixing it up to it's original condition (radiant heat, cork flooring and all). When I sold Real Estate in the olden days, I saw quite an assortment of them (and the cheaper Mackay version) all over the Palo Alto-Sunnyvale area. Even the Eichlers of the 1980's were awesome, especially the atrium plan.

The gal that handles that, is in charge of adding invites and all. I'll forward your posts to David and he can go from there I guess. Low_fat _muffin just got on the list, and I think it's on the 10th. I'll send him your posts so he can get back to you?

I have been prone to Architecture. I also love Danish furniture, with those modern lines (yet I have none of them). My dream was to have oodles of money so I could construct many homes around the world, of many types, from traditional to modern, and furnish accordingly.

The classic Eames chair is on my wishlist. Someday...

Which Eames chair? I quite like many of their chairs, but I am not really a fan of their fibreglass ones.

I'm talking the classic man's chair imhop, the Eames Lounge and Ottoman. I think I first saw it on Frazier and I've coveted it ever since. They sell it at DWR starting at 3 grand. A bit more than I can justify.
I'm mostly not a fan of the fiberglass either, although the fiberglass rocker is fun.

Ah yes, they Eames Lounge Chair is a wonderful piece, and quite comfortable.

Surprisingly, the LCW chair, although seemingly made for midgets, is *amazingly* comfortable, although I don't think I would be able to get up from it when I hit 80.

Those Lovig desks make me wet.

My parents' house is still full of American of Martinsville, Lane, and other MCM furniture.

Ooh! Very envious!!

While technically not MCM, I have 2 'real' wassily chairs in storage. Over time, the leather has aged, cracked, and stretched to where it really needs to be replaced. I would love to refurbish them, but at the moment I haven't anywhere I can put them.

Besides being very well-made, out of wood no longer available in quantity, and assembled by craftspeople. I've come to appreciate the greener aspects of buying vintage instead of RTA/big box. I have a 1960s walnut highboy chest and a vintage lounge chair. My mother is under strict orders not to throw out or give away any of her 'old' furniture!

Furniture with legs also makes a small space feel a bit airier.
