Today, 30th December is Kilt Day. I found this while perusing some kilt sites:

Damn!

Mighty Fine Man there! Yum!

Thats not the utilitikilt... it looks better, whatever it is.

Not quite as intricately made, if you can believe that. Amerikilt stitches the pleats only on the outside folds, so the inside folds have to be creased. That may be good or bad, but it does make a difference. I do like the attached sporran, since it provides a pocket without adding those clunky things on the sides... and, besides, it looks cool! That said, I don't have one, though my friend Den (6'2") does.

I was thinking the other day I should get a kilt while I still have the calves for it!

Ah, then it's not the same fellow. This is the fellow I had in mind.

[livejournal.com profile] john_nyc and I have visited him at his place in Walpole. He's not only a handsome fellow, he's very very smart, and yet very down to earth.

He's also the one who taught us the campy expression "How many esses in 'hello'?!" which is meant to be said with a lisp.

And *no*, we have *not* "had" him. ;-)

He's a great guy. I've been chatting with him on BMB for some time. He's funny and schmart. I vote you do him.

Beard - yes. Those particular kilts - no. Too new. I can't tell who makes those.

Is that Amerikilt? I know they have a sporran that attaches with chains. Their pleats are stitched differently from Utilikilts -- I know this because my friend Den has one.

Now, about the guy...!!!!!

Yes, they are! You get a prize!

Hmm plaid shirt but bland kilt

Well he certainly is an eye full huh? I actually would be afraid of him.

I may have to break down and get myself a kilt. Since I don't fit the one I got as a youth (being about 50 lbs heavier than I was back then).

Thanks for the info for the day. I am always looking for holidays to mess with America's mental mind sets (evil grin)

Of course, if you get a new kilt, you have to let me know so I can photograph you ;-)

I would be honoured! Talk about an incentive to get one. (blush)

Yeah the kilts, not so much, but he has great calves and the first picture really shows them to advantage.

For the record, I don't get the kilt thing. Not that it turns me off, per se, but I don't get the attraction. Unless it's like uniforms, where I often like the kind of man who would be wearing a fireman's or policeman's uniforms (for work, not to the bar, you pervs!).

I think it has a lot to do with 1) "easy access", and 2) good calves.

Personally, I do have a "kilt thing", mostly due to #2, above.

I dunno if I have "good calves" but I enjoy wearing my UtiliKilt. Unfortunately I'm going to have to miss Kilt Day because work today is likely to entail some activities that would make the kilt unwise....

"places said tongue back in Rick's mouth*
*blots drool off Rick's beard with hanky*

There you go, that's much more dignified. ;)
