I just found out my car will be born on July 17th. It will then make its way to the US from Japan.

My car will be 1 of 10 in the world with my specific model year, trim, colour, and options level.

I'm gonna be a dad!

Pics of the car are here:

Don't you mean "daddy"?

Then he wouldn't use future tense.

Post a pic of a similarly equipped car of your make and model. Please.

Congrats in advance! Back in 93, we ordered a Camry with a specific look. It probably took 2 months longer than the promised date to arrive. This wouldn't have been so bad, except that the salespeople kept saying it would be in next week, etc. If they wouldn't have gotten our hopes up so high, we wouldn't have been so upset when it kept getting delayed. Anyway, hopefully things will work better for you, but try not to rely on using it too soon.

I've found the Honda/Acura people are much better with that. I actually got the Build Date from the factory build list, so it's legit. Shipping to the US will be a bitch, but I suspect it will be 3-4 weeks, as that's how long it took the NSXs to arrive.

Of course, if you get a bad salesperson, you're prettymuch SOL.

If I follow correctly, this is the last model year before the generational change, so I hope all the bugs have been ironed out. So far, according (no pun intended.. the TSX is the Euro Accord R everywhere else) to the tuner community, things are pretty good to go.

As soon as it tells me its name.

sweet ride

Best of luck with it, and many years of safe, velocious driving!

Now, is that going to be your station car? I'd be a nervous wreck, leaving a beauty like that in a public parking lot.

I live in Greenwich, CT. I'm surrounded by Lexuses, BMW M5s, Benzes, Porsches, and the occasional Ferrari.

But yeah. I am actually thinking about putting on that clear film from 3M on the bumper/bonnet/mirrors. to prevent damage from flying debris. Of course, this won't help in the lot, but you takes your chances.

Dare I ask what it is about your specific combination that makes it so rare?

Carbon Grey Pearl exterior (not very popular, but I love it --even better than black)

plus

Quartz Interior (most people want black leather interior with CGP)

plus

6spd manual (I don't drive automatics)

plus

Navigation

It doesn't sound very impressive, but it's a combination that invokes a white elephant.

Ah, I see... I suppose it's really the fact you wanted a real transmission that is the kicker. ;)

The only kind of automatic I'd ever consent to drive would be a CVT, like the one in the Asian and Euro Fit/Jazz - for the geek factor, and because it has a mode where it emulates a 7-speed paddle-shift manual. ;)

I've noticed that I've become a lot less interested in "performance" when it comes to my car since I got my motorcycle.... *grin*

The badge is unfamiliar to me but it looks like a Honda Euro Accord to me - well thats what it is in Oz anyway

Indeed. In the US, Honda has created a "premium" brand called "Acura". It's amusing, as the modding community will actually buy parts to convert it back to a Honda (just to be different). The TSX is the Euro Accord R.

Oh, and welcome to my LJ! How did you find me?

good question - sorta been reading your journal for a while - I thinking I friended you after seeing areference in some one elses journal

In Australia we have two versions of the Accord - the standard one which I think is the same as the USA version and the Euro which is the one you are buying. My BF Brother in law just bought the top of the range standard one

I thought perhaps you ran into my friend John Henry Hanson. He's been travelling all over AU, and making quite a trail of devastation in his wake. From his emails, it seems he's mentioned me a few times. ::blush::.

It is remarkable how similar the styling is to my car, interior and exterior. Maybe it is the Mazda influence on mine? It sure is a beauty. What about the headroom? Are you going to be bonging your noggin regularly? Regardless, it will look good around you.

Headroom is fine, as I have the seat back reclined slightly.

I like. When I bought my 2003 Mitsubishi Galant, I was in dire financial straits, having just moved out of the house and the old Taurus literally disintegrated around me. I wanted a standard - they don't make them that way. Oh well. Next time, I think I'll try the Nissan Maxima.

Yeah... I also liked the new Lexus IS300 (Altezza), but you can only get the small engine (too small for the weight of the car) with a manual... the "real" trim levels are all auto-only.
