And all across the Mac World arises the chorus of nerdgasms.

hahha brilliantly put :)

I should change that to read "And all across the Earth arises the choral symphony of nerdgasms."

Cos there's a few windows nerds out there who are lusting for it too now.

I have three comments in a row on the iPhone on my friends list. And someone on your LJ has already beaten me to the *schwing!* reaction I had to reading the announcement.

iPhone is one slick sucker! I gather you'll be grabbing one in June?

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, I like TMobile enough to keep with them.

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be interested to see how the Windoze loyalists spin this.

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. This CRUSHES WinMobile/CE, RIM, Palm, and Symbian.

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's too expensive" WAAAAH!
"It only works on Cingular" WAAAAH!

[identity profile] theoctothorpe.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I have to say, I won't be getting an Apple phone, as I like TMobile. It's an *amazing* phone, and I want one, but I will pass on this one. I don't do 2 year contracts, and I like not giving SBC/ATT/SNET/MOUSE my money.

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2007-01-09 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
True, it's another lust-producing gadget that I can resist. I hope to have a rich friend who lets me play with it, similar to the way I got introduced to Macs in the first place. It was years before I was able to afford my own.

I am also reluctant to give SBC any more of my money. They were my ISP in Connecticut. No love lost there.

Before the announcement today the rumor was that the phone would be SIM-unlocked. I hope that as the price goes down, they'll sell it that way, once they no longer need to lower the price with a subsidy from a cell phone company.

If it's possible to unlock it, it should work on T-mo as well, although without some of the non-GSM-spec features (like visual voice mail) won't work.

[identity profile] fj.livejournal.com 2007-01-10 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
It will be unlockable. The FCC pretty much demands it by now.

[identity profile] fuzzyjay.livejournal.com 2007-01-10 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
But you can't buy it without a (2-year?) Cingular contract, I understand.

Just put the chip in my head and be done with it.
