I need a point-and-shoot to keep with me all the time. I love my 20D, but it's ginormous, and I don't always have it. I've missed far too many shots because I didn't have my camera with me.

I'm going G9.

It's the only P&S camera that I've seen that has aperture priority. As a bonus, it has a hotshoe, and built-in IS. It's also small enough to fit in a pocket. I'm also pleased that it has a RAW mode, although it doesn't write both RAW and JPEG simultaneously, like my 20D, so I will probably not bother with shooting in RAW with the G9 (all the "RAW worthy" shots will be taken by my 20D).

It's not about the pixels, it's about built-in IS, pretty good shutter lag for a non-DSLR, and the size.

Most P&S these days don't have the nasty shutter lag their predecessors did - my issue is with the loss of quality that comes from sucking 12MP out of what should be 6MP chips and the resulting loss of detail that comes from the high levels of NR required.

Being limited to ISO400 for usable images would drive me crazy.
