Hey all!

It's been a long time since we've done something fun and cultural.

Sunday, 30th March

The Armory Show

The Armory Show, The International Fair of New Art, is the world's leading art fair devoted exclusively to contemporary art. In its tenth annual exhibition, The Armory Show 2008 will celebrate the spirit of contemporary art. The exhibition includes many of the most important contemporary dealers showcasing new art from around the world.

I'm thinking we can do brunch prior to going to Pier 94.

Brunch place and time TBD (for now)

If anyone wishes to attend, reply below!

It's been a looooong time, friends! Let's all go to the Bronx Zoo on the 21st July. [livejournal.com profile] notdefined and [livejournal.com profile] mrbowles will be in town from far off San Francisco, so let's give 'em a good time, eh?

There will be other things planned like dinner, and such, but I figured I'd stick this out here first. The actual time is still TBD, but I'm thinking the late morning, then we can have a late lunch somewhere in the Bronx if we didn't want to eat in the zoo (The Zoo has many animals, but I don't think they like it if you grill them.)

If you're interested, Reply so I can get an approximate headcount!

[livejournal.com profile] rockey1 will be arriving in NYC tomorrow, staying through the week-end. I'd like to go out and have dinner Friday at Won Jo (this time I will make it, no excuses!!), then see Pan's Labyrinth, the new Guillermo Del Toro film at the AMC Theatres 19th Street East (890 Broadway).

If you haven't seen the trailer for Pan, do it now.

I'd like to make the 7:45 showing of the film, so dinner will be at 6pm. If for some reason we're running late, we have the option of seeing the film at the Lincoln Sq. AMC Theatre at 1998 B"way, where it's showing at 8:20.

So, to recap:

Gathering: Friday, 5 January
Dinner at 6pm, Won Jo
Movie: Pan's Labyrinth at 7:45pm at the AMC Theatres 19th Street East (890 Broadway)

Please reply if you are going to make it to either or both. This way I can get a head count. I would also suggest getting tix in advance, as this has won *many* awards, and is in limited release.

Hey all NYCers,

Tom aka [livejournal.com profile] notdefined is in town with his non-LJ friend Jeff (a very nice fellow) and Tom has requested we get together. They're going to see A Chorus Line in the mid-afternoon, however, afterward, I'm sure they'd like to have some food.

How about we go for eats at RUB - Righteous Urban BBQ around 6:30pm?

It was overheard that Tom would like to see [livejournal.com profile] naylandblake, so if you're available, give a ring, and/or reply.

Chow Chow!

Both old and new.

Thanks, all for such a lovely evening. My only regret was my need to go *all* the way back to Greenwich, and to work the next morning. This evening could have easily lasted for days.

Boggle anyone?

Are you down with ICP?

If so, come with me to the International Center Of Photography on Sunday, August 27th at 1pm Lunch afterward.

The ICP is showing some really cool stuff from Eugène Atget and Christopher Rauschenberg, Atta Kim, Marianne Brandt, and Arthur Fellig. Sunday is the final day of the exhibition, so if you don't come with us, you'll be left limp and unfulfilled.

Reply below so I can get a head-count of participants.

Hey all. As I am sure you've seen from posts on [livejournal.com profile] thornyc, and [livejournal.com profile] naylandblake's respective journals that there's a doin's a transpirin' on Sunday, 9th July.

First, at 11am, we're going to see the Chihuly Exhibit in the Bronx Botanical Garden

Then

We're going to head over to P.S. 1 MoMA to see [livejournal.com profile] naylandblake's work (and I am sure many others).

Later tomorrow, I will announce a special Night time gathering to see Chihuly at night (oooh pretty!!) tentatively scheduled for the 13th . That will require a bit more set-up, so the details need to be worked out.

So reply below if you're coming.

Well, minus the huge amounts of cocaine.

Come one, come all, to CineKink on Thursday, 20th October!

They're playing "Original Pride: The Satyrs Motorcycle Club", and two short films prior to the main feature (both of which, I'd like to see)

From what I understand, the main feature is at 7pm, implying that the shorts start around 6:30. I'd like to do dinner as well. I'll coordinate a place by Tuesday.

Those of you interested should reply below. More details to follow.

For those monitoring this entry, see here for the latest doin's a transpirin'
